Rogers K-Rock Centre Receives Worldwide Recognition From Pollstar Magazine
Kingston, ON – The SMG Canada managed Rogers K-Rock Centre has once again been recognized by Pollstar Magazine as one of Canada’s premier venues. The magazine released their Year End Worldwide Ticket Sales “Top 200 Arenas” on January 9th, ranking the Rogers K-Rock Centre first in Canadian venues under 7,000 seats, for total worldwide ticket sales in 2016.
“Our team is proud to deliver best in class, and first in Canada, results for Rogers K-Rock Centre. This past year was another strong event year for us and the ticket sales prove it”, says Lynn Carlotto, SMG Canada’s General Manager of the Rogers K-Rock Centre.
With 66,343 tickets sold (excluding Frontenacs tickets) the Rogers K-Rock Centre ranked higher than any other facility of its size in Canada.
Sold out events in 2016 included Santana (April 21), James Taylor (May 12), Jason Aldean (May 13), Meat Loaf (May 28), Cirque du Soleil – OVO (December 7-11), and of course, The Tragically Hip’s final performance on their Man Machine Poem Tour (August 20).
After finishing out 2016 with one of the most successful Cirque du Soleil performances in venue history, the Rogers K-Rock Centre heads into 2017 with a strong event line-up that includes: Jeff Dunham (January 26), Carr-Harris Cup (February 2), Brad Paisley (February 4), Blue Rodeo (February 9), the Harlem Globetrotters (April 5), and Dean Brody (April 28). “The notoriety received through the Pollstar rankings reminds event promoters that tickets for Rogers
