2016 Royal Society Gala Dinner
Royal Society of Canada Gala Dinner 2016
The Royal Society of Canada hosted their Annual General Meeting in Kingston in November of 2016 and capped off the event with a beautiful gala dinner at the Rogers K-Rock Centre on Saturday. The Royal Society of Canada is well-known for its celebration of the Academics of Arts, Humanities and Sciences of Canada. The Royal Society of Canada was founded in 1882 as the nation’s pre-eminent and senior collegium to promote learning and research and provide intellectual leadership for the betterment of Canada and the world.
The gala dinner commenced on Saturday, November 19th and guests entered the main corridor where the elegance of the evening was on full display. The ceiling of the Rogers K-Rock Centre was decorated with drapery and lighting provided by Kingston’s own Q-Design. The transition from a hockey arena to a stunning gala dinner was seamless and the guests were in awe of the amazing scenery.
Guests sat down soon after arrival and gourmet food filled the tables. The menu included a spinach and pine nut salad, steamed vegetables, glazed duck, and a delicious flourless chocolate cake to finish. The evening’s presentations were projected on two large screens in the middle of the gala, along with many speakers and a live band. The evening concluded with many laughs and a few drinks and fun was had by all. It was a sensational evening and just another example of a terrific Rogers K-Rock Centre event!
