ROGERS K-ROCK CENTRE NAMED MAJOR VENUE OF THE YEAR UNDER 8,000 SEATS AT 2016 CANADIAN MUSIC WEEK AWARDS GALA
For the fifth year in a row, and seventh time in the last eight years, the Rogers K-Rock Centre has once again been voted Canadian Venue of the Year under 8,000 seats at the 2016 Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards.
“I know I speak for our entire team when I say we are extremely proud and grateful to receive this award for the seventh time in eight years. It’s an honour to represent the best in class in Canada, and a responsibility we take very seriously. We deeply appreciate the support of all the voters, our promoters and fans, and most of all I am very happy to bring this award home again to the City of Kingston,” said SMG Canada’s General Manager of the Rogers K-Rock Centre, Lynn Carlotto.
The nomination for 2016 Major Facility of the Year under 8,000 seats was shared with Brandt Centre (Regina, SK), General Motors Centre (Oshawa, ON), Harbour Station (Saint John, NB), Mile One Centre (St. John’s, NL), Moncton Coliseum (Moncton, NB), Prospera Place (Kelowna, BC), Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre (Victoria, BC), and WFCU Centre (Windsor, ON).
The Molson Canadian Amphitheatre (Toronto, ON) was awarded Canadian Venue of the Year over 8,000 seats for 2016. The nominees and winners of the Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards are chosen by combined votes of registered Canadian music industry professionals.
